How do you play Football Tic Tac Toe?

Rows and columns are both criteria: club, nationality, position, league, age or market value. To claim a square, name a player who fits BOTH the row and the column. A player can only be used once; if the clock runs out the turn passes.

Tips for Football Tic Tac Toe

  • The centre square sits on four of the eight lines: its row, its column and both diagonals. Taking it opens your paths and blocks your opponent's.
  • A player can only be used once. If your opponent names your rare answer first, it is gone - when you know the only answer to a hard square, do not sit on it.
  • You have 20 seconds, then the turn passes. Burning your move on the hardest square while you know an easy one is a wasted turn.
