Every match opens with 3-2-1-GO — the curtain teaches the board

There is a five-second curtain in front of every match: 3, 2, 1 and GO. The countdown no longer runs on the face-off screen but on the board itself, a whistle blows at zero, and only then does the round clock start — so the countdown costs nobody any time.
On four boards the curtain also teaches: XOX, Common Ground, Hidden Star and Over Under. Each number lights up a real part of the board and names it in one line; no example question is invented — what lights up is the very board of the match you are about to play. The automatic tutorial that used to sit in front of the match is gone; you can still start the lesson from the game modes page.
Update (30 September 2026): the curtain now explains all fifteen games, not just four; in every match three short lines light up the relevant part of the board to remind you of the rules. If you want to play the tutorial from the start, you can open it from settings.
